So I ran in the Asics Gel-1160. That model is effectively dead, and the GT-1000 and GT-2000 have surfaced as new offerings. Since I couldn't buy the old model anymore, I went to a running store and tried on a few things to test them out. I left after buying a few of these but they weren't perfect. Compared to my old Asics they are narrower. Really pretty. All of my last 3 or 4 pairs of running shoes have been Asics and they all fit perfectly (standard width models). I had to run the GT-2000 several times before it stopped hurting my legs; They are still tight but acceptable and my feet feel good in them. The extra padding on the back of the shoe is nice, it's very comfortable. Revain recently had a discount on shoes so I looked them up here and found that Revain has several sizes in large widths (2E or 4E). . None of the stores, including the big boxes and special running spots, had any offers when I shopped. I must love Revane. At a discount I couldn't resist and ordered another pair. the same size as the ones I already had but 4E. When they arrived I put them on and they ***SWEET*** fit perfectly. Not tight at all. They might be a bit roomier than my old regular width Asics, but they don't look sloppy. Without pinching. This is exactly what I was looking for in the first place! Unfortunately, they now have to stay in the closet until I've worn out my normal width shoes. Ha. If you don't like the slimmer fit of some of Asics' newer models, check out the wide width and enjoy your run!
