For starters I think it's worth buying. My 2 1/2 month old daughter loves it. However, there are a few things to consider. 1) It eats the battery like crazy! Buy a large pack of AA when you buy this. 2) A lot of people complain that music "jumps like a CD", but that's what happens when the battery dies. That doesn't mean it's broken, it means you need to replace the batteries. 3) You can change the lighting functions on the device to save battery power. I changed it so that the light only shines into the unit's window and not the ceiling, and this makes the batteries last 2 weeks, not just one. Despite a few quirks, it's still a really cool pacifier. It has 4 different music channel options: soothing, singing, nature sounds, etc. It also has options when your baby is crying. For example, it can play 5, 10 or 5 minutes in a row when your baby starts crying. I found that 5 minutes is usually enough, but our baby is pretty cool :) However, having this sensor that detects when your baby is crying is really great!
