I was glad I kept the box to return this sweeper. I charged it and it sounded slow and inefficient; there was no noise, no anger, nothing to suggest it could work. I decided to give it a chance before putting it in the box. He struggled, but magically the dirt vanished. I tried it on different surfaces - the same thing, dirt or something else disappeared. Remarkably effective; However, if you need sound and fury to convince others that you're doing your bit, buy something else. All you can hear is a low, muffled hum. No drama, no anger, nothing flashy, it works great; I still don't think so. One problem: it won't slide out on a thick carpet. You have to pick it up and bring it to you. If you do that, it works fine. I have to convince myself every time I turn it on. That shouldn't work; but it is so.
