UPDATE: Fan failed after 6 days

I ordered this fan to replace a failed one on my 2007 Toyota Camry. In fact, without doing any maintenance myself, I asked for a quote from the local dealer ($297 parts and labor) and Pep Boys ($336). I watched a few YouTube videos, checked the prices of some parts and realized I could do it for a lot less. Even without the best tools, it took me half an hour at most. The original fan is fastened with a combination screw 10mm/pan head/torx key. Without a set of sockets, I was able to remove two of the three screws with a flat head screwdriver. However, the rearmost screw (next to the firewall) didn't have enough play to fit my screwdriver. Luckily I had an electric screwdriver with the right torx bit to finish the job. The new fan is quiet and gets the job done. I will provide an update in the future if needed. UPDATE (9/12/14): Unfortunately, it looks like I spoke too soon. Six (6) days after installation, this fan made the same noise as the one I replaced (a metallic click that varies with fan speed), which two technicians diagnosed as bearing failure. Looks like I'll have to return it and I don't know if I'll try the same thing again. Unfortunately I also bought TYC headlights. I hope they don't cause any problems. I'm disappointed with this turn of events as it was a good deal and looked like a quality part. I gave two stars instead of one because the fit and fit was good. You might get a good one. I do not know.
