Review on Quick Dam Flood Barrier Pack by Brandon Skeet

Revainrating 5 out of 5

This saved me from flooding my house last week!

I bought this as a 'backup plan' for my back patio door which turned out to be very low and low to the ground. The rain goes away fairly quickly but we've had a lot of rain this month and the gullies are overflowing. With hurricane season in mind I figured I should have SOMETHING in case the rain doesn't stop for a while. A few days after I got it, we got one of those downpours where the sky literally starts dropping BUCKETS. The water drains so quickly that there is no time to drain. I saw water seeping under my patio door. I grabbed this, ran outside and wrapped the first 10 foot section in a shallow U around the door to allow it to open a little. I lined up the second one INSIDE the door. IT WORKS OUT! IT WORKS OUT! It prevented water ingress! From the moment I wrote that down to the moment the rain actually stopped, another hour passed. Another hour of rain and my house inside could easily have been completely flooded in that hour. Granted it's only 3 inches when fully loaded, but pushed all the way up against the door it can hold more water. for a while because the door itself blocks the water above for a while, it just seals the gap below. Obviously this will not help water seepage on the sides of the door. But it can make the difference in runoff time when the rain stops, that was for us. If there is even a risk of flooding, you need these. This article is great! It's small and flat when you get it and doesn't take up much storage space. filled (because you actually used it in a flood situation) you can't put it back in the box so you don't want to "experience" it first unless you have a few boxes. it is inflated but the year is written on the box. I doubt it. But maybe. I'll keep it on the back burner until we get another torrent, and probably buy another box just in case. This is an emergency product and it WORKS. If it protects your home from even a small flood, you'll save a lot of money. If you even think you might need it, BUY IT! I am VERY grateful that I did! Hope that helps.
