Here is a woman with wavy hair. So I'm trying to get my hair back. I never knew how to maintain wavy hair so it was always frizzy and ugly. I held it almost 24 hours a day, 7 days a week until I straightened it. I had no idea that wavy, thinner or looser curly hair should be groomed with the modified curly girl method. No idea. I always thought I had crappy hair lol. Anyway, long story short, I've been using a modified CG method for the past few weeks, washing less often, using CG-approved natural shampoos and conditioners, using leave-in, spanking and all that. Holidays in air conditioners did not bring what I wanted. I still had a lot of curls that I just couldn't handle, but I really don't want to regularly use 6 different curls in my hair to control it (because really, who has the time or who wants all that crap that have them in their hair or on their heads?) So. I decided to try something like a gel casting script with this one. I chose it because it offers minimal hold, should help calm frizz and allows me to air dry without heat (according to the CG method). While I am fully aware of the fact that this product is NOT CG approved, I have not done so. I don't really care because most approved products are so damn expensive they make my wallet cry. I am satisfied with this product. I applied it to damp hair, ruffled it a bit and left the house for work. My hair air dried faster with this product (it usually takes until 2pm and this one was dry by noon) which is most likely to do with the low alcohol content (alcohol is definitely NOT CG approved). It tamed frizz well and left my hair with a slight "gel bandage" feel (I applied it liberally to see if it would weigh my fine hair down and make it greasy). a little stiff when it dried out and a little thin with some flare. But after it dried I turned my head and removed the "gel bandage", my hair got really really soft and shiny. It had a very slightly oily appearance (so now I know I'll have to use more sparingly in the future), but nothing too bad. And it actually helped my curls hold together and stay defined, rather than making my hair look like a dry, frizzy mess. I will continue to use it and will probably buy more when it runs out. I just really wish I could get it from amazon.ca instead of amazon.com as the shipping would be much faster if it came from Canada (where I live) and not the US. I've attached pictures (before and after crunch) in case anyone is interested in seeing the results. Please remember that I started going back to my natural hair less than a month ago. So it will be some time before I get full results and keep experimenting and creating my own version of the CG method. Oh, by the way, it smells great. As. Delicious. My hair still smells good even on the second day and my curls/waves are even softer and shinier after sleeping in it last night. This morning I was able to really "taper" my curls/waves without washing and finishing them together.
