We do a lot of fancy and tricky things in my house. Between me, my cricut and my girls (9 and 11 years old) who model clay and make beaded jewelry, we haven't tried anything. . . failed . . . tried again. . . nailed and loved. We dabbled in tie-dyeing and trying to make fun fabrics for homemade face masks in the early days of the 2020 pandemic. We used acrylic paint and a salt water mix, which worked damn well and produced subtle colors that stayed wash after wash. I really liked how navy blue and light blue looked and after some research I found a shibori style tie color and wanted to try it with real dyes. This paint set was fantastic - it has all the tools you need and a great booklet with instructions and tips. The colors of the varnishes are delicate and deep, do not fade when washed. We dyed the 100% cotton sheet and pillowcase white to make the duvet cover and matching pillowcases. We followed the instructions and our project turned out perfect for us. Cleaning was pretty easy - I just tossed everything in the dishwasher with a bag of bleach. Good luck with your projects!
