This answering machine lost power after 1 month and when I plugged it in it beeped constantly and stopped working. I had a similar error with my previous GE autoresponder and had to throw them both out. I've never heard of this issue with other brands, but I should have known better as every GE unit I've ever had the misfortune to work with has broken. Learn from my horrible experience and don't buy GE consumer product, fly a GE powered plane, buy GE stock or don't trust Jack Welch when he says he's not a scammer. And then you write to your congressman and propose that he or she pass legislation requiring GE to only make lightbulbs. If you don't do all of these things, just don't buy a GE answering machine.
