I have purchased two of these units. The first had to be sent back as the compressor never started. It was a real problem, I wasted time ordering by mail instead of buying locally, the humidity in my basement was skyrocketing. About a week later I was up. Then, a few months after the arrival of the new compressor, the compressor turned on mid-cycle and wouldn't turn on again, again resulting in a loss of humidity control. When I turned it off manually it worked for a while but wasn't reliable as the compressor just stopped working and the fan kept running. A Honeywell spokesman said there was a problem with this compressor. Honeywell is a respected company that stands behind its products. I'm sure a solution is in the works. Just title that particular block at a time. I'm sending it back but this time it's a bit more work as it's been months since the other one didn't work right away this time. Again, I still trust Honeywell and have admired the company's policies for many years. They are good corporate citizens and strive in this area.
