A paint thickness gauge is a must for detailers, whether professional or DIY. This one is pretty accurate for what's needed when using gages and other gages I have from other, more expensive gauges. Make sure you calibrate before any major use, but love that all values are saved for you to review or save to a file for clients or your own car. Overall it's a good solid device, I wish it had come with a foam case for better storage but I ordered one and there wasn't much of it. The battery life is also pretty good from my first use.
