I use them to make wooden coasters. You are the perfect size. Smooth, but sometimes one side becomes textured and the grains begin to fuzz (if that's the right word). Also they are not ideal 4 inches. So when I created my mandala coasters, I had to measure them accurately if I wanted to get a flat mandala. Unless you're making mandalas or anything that requires precise circles, I don't see that as a problem. Otherwise, they are great for decoration or even for hanging on the wall. The paint works great on them. I treated them with sealant and glitter sprays. They didn't have any problems. I checked the coasters after sealing for quality assurance. We threw them on the floor several times, soaked them in water and there were no problems. Nothing happened to you.
