Sticky glue suitable for home furnishings

The biggest problem with this door brush is that the glue is very sticky and over time the brush will wander down until it drags across the floor. I installed it 1/8 inch off the floor and after a few days it started dragging on the floor which I didn't want. I picked it up again so there was a gap again and a few days later it was dragging again. I'll pick it up again, and this time I'll tape it in place to see if that stops it. some weeks.
