So, like everyone who has purchased this product, I need to remove the bacterial film and general scum from the surface of my water. I didn't want to buy another special powered device and already have glass inlets and outlets attached to my canister. It seemed like an easy compromise - remove the existing glass inlet, replace with a skimmer inlet, adjust the flow and you're done. What I couldn't do was read the measurements on the product page. This is solely my fault and cannot be returned to the manufacturer. The bend in the tube (the "U" that hooks onto the rim of the tank) is too tight to fit through my tank. I have a 55 gallon Marineland/Perfecto tank with a plastic lid and there just isn't enough room to bend over it. My Jardlii glass intake tubes that I bought earlier have a lot of room to bend. I'll probably buy stainless steel tubing or some other more expensive glass option from another supplier. However, it's pretty good hardware that I can't use. It's probably a pretty good value here if you can use it. My kit included a free double ended cleaning brush and extra suction cups. The packaging is very generic and obviously very Chinese. If you have a thick rim around your tank, take a few measurements before paying for it. This is probably not a problem for tanks under 55 gallons with narrower rims, and obviously not a problem at all for tanks without rims. I'll probably rebuild it into a smaller tank or resell it.
