I just received my new Huion LA3 light table. Both the A2 and LA3 can be plugged directly into an outlet and are therefore the brightest light tables on the market at 4500 lux (with the exception of the extremely expensive Artograph LED panel at 5000 lux). I bought a larger LA3 because the sizes of my drawings vary and I didn't want to limit myself. YES, you can trace the Arches 140lb watercolor paper very easily. I work from photo sources that I print on regular photographic paper. I can easily see through photocopy paper and 140 lb watercolor tracing paper. Someone asked for about 300 pounds of paper. I experimented by doubling the 140 lb paper. I could still see the photocopy if I did it in the dark, but for fine detail I had to trace the photo onto tracing paper with a black pen and then trace it through the 300lb paper. The black lines were blurry but understandable. But rest assured, painting on 140lb watercolor paper is super easy, especially when the lights are off. The LA3 light table is elegant and beautiful. With the sale and coupon, it only costs about $50. A worthwhile investment as it's not just limited to the light table. The surface is hard. My T-Square works very cleanly and more precisely with it than with my usual desktop. I now have a second drawing and design workbench that I can put on top of the drawing board, or I can just hide it on its side in a closet or put it in a paper drawer. Love it!
