The lid falls off if you don't put it on properly.
The sharpener itself still works well (after 2 weeks) but I found the lid to fall off if not properly replaced. The thing that's hard to know if you replaced it correctly is that it technically "fits" TWO different ways.... One way doesn't hold it in place, but neither is very tight. I applied a small dot of pink nail polish to the right side and no more jagged spots have flown across my counter!π
