Review on Carson SensorMag: DSLR Camera Sensor Cleaning Loupe & DustBlaster Air Blast Kit by Jay Koterba

What is the difference between light and magnification to see dust

A common problem with DSLRs. Eventually, the dust penetrates and settles on the sensor, creating "spots" in the final image. This is exactly what happened to my 2.5 year old Canon T5 on my last shoot. I discovered this when I got home to work with RAW files and saw horrible "bugs" in my shots. Rocket Blower removed the lens and blew dust off the inner camera and sensor. I thought I was fine but the spots stayed. This little LED magnifying glass was needed to see the dust on the sensor. Oh my goodness! A first look before any serious deep cleaning showed that there was dust on the sensor in many more places than the sensor's image showed. Rocket Blower didn't even phase him. I had to go to the wet cleaning to clean everything. Cleaning the sensor costs between $50 and $100 at the camera facility. That's not the downtime waiting for the camera to be returned from the store. If you have a DSLR and suspect you have a dust problem (you will after a while), this magnifying glass is for you. Don't skimp here - buy all the equipment you need in advance and you can clean the camera sensor yourself. This magnifying glass makes your work 10 times easier. She is worth her money!
