. the first waffle maker I have ever bought and I am very happy with it

This was the first waffle maker I have ever bought and I am very happy with it. I've read some other reviews complaining that it doesn't have a timer or other fancy gadgets, but that's just a plus for me. I'll be the first to admit I'm not techy, but this waffle maker was so simple and easy. And I don't mind setting my own timer - in fact I prefer it because I've been so frustrated with automatic devices in the past. Some helpful tips: 1. Find a good waffle batter recipe. The best waffle iron in the world won't help bad batter.2. Use cooking spray. I've never had a non-stick skillet or utensil that didn't require cooking spray, so don't be lazy. It only takes two seconds.3. Do not overfill the iron. Other people have complained about this model overloading, but I found it only happened to me once the first time I overloaded it. No more than 3/4 cup depending on the thickness of the batter you are making. THE MOST IMPORTANT 4. Sure. Most of the negative reviews I read about this model relate to the fact that it is difficult to clean. My guess is that most of them weren't sprayed first, and that's where most of the problem comes from. If you have used cooking spray, all you have to do is wipe it off with a damp cloth. If you really want to get into the crevices really well, take some cotton swabs, dip them in soapy water, and run them between those hard-to-reach spots. Then take a few dry ones and wipe off excess water and foam. Overall I love this little waffle maker and enjoy using it every weekend.
