I bought these because I really hate cold hands and fingers. I can be a little picky about this. I wear them in 20-30 degree winds and I don't see them holding up to cooler temperatures when I'm doing something sporty. Throw in some activity and they'll probably be fine in cooler temperatures but for standing around. I think it will bring me into my comfort zone. Of course I can be pickier than some. The gauntlets have decent dexterity for a heavy type, but don't work well with fine movements. For example, when I'm driving, they hold the steering wheel well, but trying to press the buttons on the radio is pointless. (I drive about 15 minutes to work and don't try to warm up the car. Seems silly to try such a short distance - I'm already halfway through when the car warms up, so I'm just tying up.) Be too warned about the size. I used Youngstown's size chart and bought the recommended size. Although the palm fits the hand well, the fingers are too short and narrow. I hope they settle in a little better, but I'm not sure yet. This is one of those gloves that you can buy a size up or up if you have a thin liner that you want to add. All in all, they meet my needs. However, I wouldn't want to be on the road in a less active role for too long, and I wouldn't count on them letting me do anything like writing. Safe riding but not for grabbing or manipulating anything smaller in diameter than my handlebars. I want to rate this 3.5 stars overall but it works for my needs. Even if it might not be yours. JTG
