Not a bad walkie-talkie for your money. The solder joint instructions on the internet are correct. Look for the white line on the board. Good radio for channel 19. The automatic squelch is quite good and makes good noise, although I wish it would fade out a bit and last a little longer rather than the silence being broken by a sudden burst of noise, then silence and then another Noise. Reminds me of an old Cobra 19. Not very demanding in that sense. Turn the noise canceling knob all the way to the left to turn on noise canceling automatically. Lots of different settings to play with. I like the sound SWR meter because with the window down and door closed I can make quick adjustments without having to go back and press a button every time. I would MUCH prefer to use a 4-pin mic since I never use the mic up/down buttons anyway. The microphone sounds good, but not outstanding and looks cheap. All in all a good buy in my opinion.
