PC review only. works, but there are problems

It is important to note that this review is for PC only. I don't have a switch and I have no idea how it would work there. Out of the box I had no problem pairing it with my purchased bluetooth 5.1 dongle which I will link here: https://www.amazon. com/gp/product/B095R6VK7Y/ But unfortunately I have some other problems with the controller. Functionally, everything looks pretty good. I was surprised that the joysticks also pressed the L3 and R3 buttons. It was a really nice and welcome change, plus an extra button on the shoulder and more. PC problems: - Some functions do not work when connected wirelessly. The home button does not function as a guide button; Instead, a blank browser page opens. Obviously this can get in the way if you accidentally hit that button while playing. The "Capture" button doesn't do anything either. In every input mapping program I've tried, the PC doesn't register the Home or Capture buttons as anything, so I can't find a way to map them to different functions that would actually be useful. So the 3 buttons on this controller (including the turbo button) are pretty much useless when used wirelessly. - When first connected, all entries were incorrect (A was B, B was A, etc.). It wasn't the end of the world, and it was an easy fix on Steam (Steam > Settings > Controllers > General Controller Settings > Find Controllers and Edit Button Layout). Bought this controller separately. It would be nice if they said so in the description, otherwise I would have looked elsewhere - when connected via cable, the controller on the PC is recognized as an X-Input controller. The Home button now behaves like the Guide button for Steam and more. Vibration works now too. But the same problem persists in the button layout and for some reason - at least on steam - I can't change the button layout globally. I didn't address this as I only want to use this wirelessly. So if you just want to use that wired mode then it seems much better (once you can fix the button mismatch issues anyway). But in any case, for me the biggest advantage of this particular controller was the wireless use, which again some functions do not work properly. I tried emailing support on their official website for these issues but they didn't help and didn't respond to my follow up. The user manual is also not very helpful in solving these problems. It looks like the controller is meant to be in what I consider to be D-Input on Wireless and X-Input on Wired, with no possibility of changing them. At least it's not documented. In the end, the controller works and performs quite well even with these problems. But thought I'd write them down in case anyone wants to use this as a PC controller. If I had known about these issues I would not have bought this controller. So maybe this will save you some heartache.
