This socket is similar to an extension cord, but instead of a cord you get a socket with a lamp connector. This is the same quality as the cheap extension cords you can find at Walmart/Dollar. However, you have the option of plugging your own lightbulb directly into an outlet to use as a lamp/light source. You do NOT want an overly heavy bulb in this socket. I would recommend a lightweight LED bulb the same size as a desk lamp (if not smaller). The base head wobbles a bit so it's not strong enough to support much weight, definitely not a huge bathroom lamp. I would mount this to the wall with hooks and you may need a real extension cord as you only have about 5 feet of cord length. Also, there is NO motion sensor on this cable, just a light switch.
