Lousy product, low quality.

In general, apart from a beautiful picture, this docking station has zero advantages. It all starts with opening the cover with a wire, you need to make a lot of effort and it opens with a slight bending of the case itself. Otherwise, it seems that now it will simply bend (it is metal, oddly enough). Further, you can simply describe the installation of the driver on a macBook with the BigSur operating system, it is with this OS that j5 has, as I understood from the description at the office. website and the trouble began. In my case, on a mac with an M1 processor. We go to the manufacturer's website, see that everything is compatible with your macBook, rejoice, download the driver and slowly begin to wonder at the installation process. Click, run, everything is clear here. At the end of the installation, do not close the installation window, but open the iOS system settings, go to security and allow this program to use kernel extensions (or something like that). Well, OK. Then go to privacy and allow the driver, attention! SCREEN RECORDING! God bless him, the device has already been bought, reconciled, resolved all this and rebooted. When you connect the monitor to this docking station, you will each time have some interesting window pop up, in which not necessarily every time, but the first time you will need to allow the driver to work and agree with some system message on this topic. Further, everything applies only to the macBook family on the M1. Display Port will not work for you. 4k only at 30Hz and only on HDMI. But that's not even what you'd expect at 30Hz. The mouse moves jerkily, moving the window works worse every 100 times, even if we compare it with TeamViewer. In general, displaying a picture on a 4k monitor is worse than if you work on a remote RDP connection to your work. I don't know if this product works under Win with small screens, but with iOS on M1 and a screen larger than Full HD, it does not work. Don't skimp and buy something more expensive.

Pros
  • This model has no advantages.
Cons
  • Doesn't work well with a 4k monitor on a macbook, especially on the M1 and most likely will on Intel as well. More details in the description of this review. If you are a regular user of apple products, installing a driver for this good can be difficult.
