Review on πŸ•οΈ Igloo 72 Qt BMX Cooler: Rugged and Reliable Cooling Solution for Outdoor Adventures by John Miller

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Lots of bang for the buck. Upper middle class. Very satisfied. Would buy again.

Bought as a return from stock. I am very happy with it. it looks cool If you keep it in the shade and refrigerate it properly before putting ice on it, and then keep it in the shade when you arrive at your destination, it will last three days ice and then some more. THAT SAID: I usually fill and freeze empty 2 liter soda bottles with water and place them on the bottom of my coolers before heading to camp. They appear to be a little more durable than regular Igloo coolers, but don't expect Yeti or Pelican quality in the materials. but you don't pay Yeti or Pelican prices for that. In terms of material, I would classify it as high average. I have taken our Yeti on a hike on triple digit summer days and have taken this one. and as long as they stay the same on the ice. For longer trips, I think four days is the maximum you'll get from Igloo. Personal test: the first weekend we used it, we went to the lake for three days. Temperature was mid 90's, ultra high humidity. With no frozen 2L ice cream in the block, it held pillow ice cream for three days with little melting. I purposely left it on the bed of my truck for three days after we got home. Black steel bed with diamond coating. Three days later, the bottled water and ice melt water left inside were still very cold, although the ice had completely melted. Four days later it got a little warmer so I drained it and cleaned it. So 3 days of hiking plus 3 days in the scorching sun on a black platform before it gets warmer inside. The ice disappeared on the first day of sitting in the back of a truck (on the fourth day of ice). I did not use block ice on this first trip. Gonna try it out this weekend - long weekend, top 90s/bottom 100s, with block ice on bottom, pillow ice on top. I'll update if my mind changes. TL;dr - Great cooler for the money, even better when you can get it back in stock at a lower price than usual. I would definitely buy it again and recommend it to those who don't have Yeti Money and want a mid-range cooler.
