I gave it to some kids. Sometimes they take it right away, sometimes it takes a while, but eventually they all start to love it. More than anything, they enjoy playing DJs and controlling music playback. There are probably 5 or 6 different little 10-15 second tunes that play very fun and upbeat. (6?) Plastic balls pop out when this happens. First the balls pop out and are picked up by the machine to pass through the hopper and pop out again. Usually after a few pops during a tune, the balloons will rise more aggressively and fly away from the car, forcing someone to get them. The benefit of this is that it's fun and gets the kids (or parents) getting up and moving. The bad thing is that the balls are easily lost. Requires DD batteries which can be expensive. As the batteries wear out, the balls stop bouncing and just hang in the machine's mouth, but the tunes go on. However, the balloons never burst so hard that anyone could be injured. Kids love the breeze blowing off the car. All in all, this is one of my favorite gifts for a one or two year old.
