I recently purchased several LED bulbs that were advertised as compatible with existing ballasts which ended up destroying my fixture. This prompted me to research and purchase a new light fixture to replace my existing fluorescent tube. I stumbled across these and bought them for two reasons: 1) the footprint was slightly larger than my old light fixture so I could easily hide the unfinished drywall I found when removing the old light fixture, and 2) I liked it got the look online and appreciated the fact that the LED light is more efficient than the old light. It took me 15 minutes to install this lamp. One helpful tip I can share is that it helps to have a zip tie on hand to tie the cables in the mount. There is a handy place in the bracket to attach a zip tie which I was able to use for this purpose and which allowed me to attach the cables directly to the top of the unit. This resulted in pure light coming from the fixture with no wire "shadows" in the plastic. I would very much like to buy it again - in fact I'm considering buying two more for other spots in my house that have the same light. I just replaced.
