Review on 🔧 Vacmaster VCFS Standard Cartridge Retainer: Superior Convenience and Efficiency by Mike Wallace

Revain's website specifically states "Fits all Vacmaster wet/dry 5 to 16 gallon vacuums (except VWM510)". I specifically bought the Vacmaster VFB511B0201 (5 gallon, Beast series) because it was the only vacuum of this size that I found at Revain that I could also find a HEPA filter that was guaranteed to fit. Yeah right. The attachment system of this HEPA filter is totally incompatible with this vacuum cleaner. However, there is (barely) room in the vacuum for this larger filter if you can imagine mounting it. After some time and with the help of a 3D printer I was able to make a mounting adapter. I think this HEPA filter works fine. Actually, I didn't have time to look at it very closely. Seriously, a single-ply paper filter that's fan-pleated can't meet HEPA standards, but I figured this filter would do a much better job of trapping drywall dust than just dispersing it like my old shop vacuum did. By the way, there is no certified HEPA filter on the packaging, only made of "HEPA material”. The vacuum cleaner comes with a dust bag that serves as a pre-filter. Overall, after very limited testing, it looks like the vacuum, dust bag and this filter are doing a very good job of cleaning up the clutter left in the home from a kitchen makeover. But installing this Vacmaster filter on my brand new 5 gallon Vacmaster vacuum was a pain. That is the reason for the three stars.
