Purchased to connect an HDTV to my legacy Yamaha receiver to stream Smart TV audio through my HiFi system. It also uses HDMI and a second Best Buy digital optical cable to connect the Spectrum cable box between the TV and cable audio receiver. Each audio source on a separate receiver input allows me to shape the sound (surround or 7-channel stereo) according to the content. Both work flawlessly with no noticeable difference in sound quality.
