I discovered these cat collars from Angel Pet Supplies about 3 years ago and am very happy with them. I have indoor and outdoor cats. It was difficult to find strong collars that would last more than a month or two. Simple grooming and scratches would be enough to ruin the cheap collars you find at pet stores. This is not the case with these very durable leather collars. And yes, they are made of leather! The elastic fuse works great. It is wide and riveted at the collar. It will not tear or detach from the collar. My cats appeared collarless but later found their collars dangling from bushes, fences, and household furniture. I live outside of Houston and these collars hold up well in the heat and humidity. I would say their lifespan is around 2 years if the elastic release loses its elasticity from heat. My pet cats' collars last much longer. This review is for the pink collar, but I bought all the colors, both with rhinestones and studs. Prices can go up and down, so I tend to buy "on sale". For example, when I bought the pink collars they were an $8 add-on, but as I write this I see that they are $20 now and could be $12 tomorrow. I'm not sure why the prices fluctuate so much. Revain is the only place I could find this brand. Don't fall for fakes as they are usually not real leather (although they claim it is leather) and the elastic is like a cheap ponytail holder and will break quickly.
