Wi-Fi 6 router with good performance and fair price, but the app needs some work.

The Dynalink DL-WRX36 is a WiFi 6 router that transmits WiFi data in two frequency bands: 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. This means it supports the new AX standard but at the same level. Frequency spectrum 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. A WiFi 6 router alone does not automatically provide noticeable improvements over 5 GHz AC. To take full advantage of performance, connected devices must support WiFi 6. I wasn't expecting much at this price point as other WiFi 6 routers cost at least double and some even triple. But some of them that are more expensive also support WiFi 6E. The Dynalink DL-WRX36 router looks like a tower, similar to the routers of some well-known brands, but with a more affordable price. The router has colored LEDs for power, status and WPS. On DL - The WRX36 LED indicator will slowly flash blue when booting, fast when updating or resetting, red fast when WPS pairing, and solid blue when powering on and OK. On the back you'll find a 2.5Gb/s WAN port, four 1Gb/s LAN ports, and a USB 3.0 port. Port supporting NAS, FTP server, SAMBA and DLNA. Although the router supports a large capacity USB stick (flash drive) or external drive, I could not get the external hard drive, M.2 SATA, or NVMe to work. It only worked with USB sticks. I prefer configuring my routers through the web interface as it gives me more control over the configuration process. But I used the Dynalink app and followed the app's step-by-step instructions. I downloaded the app, followed the setup steps and in just 3 minutes (including updating the router firmware) the router was up and running. I changed the default name to my previous WiFi router's name and voila! all 34 devices (out of 34) were found and connected. I encountered some issues with the app when trying to connect to the Dinalink WiFi network. This gave me "Cannot connect to the internet" in "Choose your Internet connection type" "DHCP". It looks like the modem isn't connected to an ISP yet, so I just manually connected to the Dynalink WiFi network. When the application then resumed and said "Network connected", it returned "Oops!". "Make sure your device is connected." Error. The application may get stuck due to this conflicting error and the only way out is to proceed with the configuration from the web interface. I called Dynalink support and they answered the call right away, but the support rep didn't have the experience to help. At that moment I was asked to leave a number and an email address where I could be contacted. I'm still waiting to be contacted. Once the router was up and running, I tested LAN throughput by transferring 5.2GB of mixed data from my NAS. I was transferring data from an NVMe SSD to ensure no bandwidth was hijacked on my end. I used a 2.5GHz capable device to test the speed of the LAN by recording the time it took for the transfer to complete. I did the transfer 3 times and then collected the average for the final result. The router could transfer a 5.2GB folder in 46 seconds at 904.3Mbps. I also tested the AX range with two WiFi 6 enabled laptops. I tested the router by transferring 5.2GB of mixed data from my NAS, this time from multiple locations (see image for location map). I placed the router 7 inches off the ground. I've found that placing the router above furniture provides the best range and throughput. To test the WiFi network, I used two laptops, one with a Killer AX1650w Wi-Fi 6 and the other with a MediaTek wireless MT7921 was equipped with Wi-Fi 6 network. Both can reach 1201 Mbps (150 MB/s). By placing the router at one end, I was able to measure how far it could travel at the other end. The Dynalink DL-WRX36 WiFi 6 router worked very well, better than the more expensive devices, and was even very close to my dual-mesh system that was twice the price. .I have a $599 router and the 5GHz band is not reaching site 4b. Dynalink DL-WRX36 was able to download 46 Mbps at this location. Dynalink has a successful device, they just need to work on the app and fix the bugs. There are no problems configuring the router via the web interface, although this option is not even mentioned on the packaging. If you don't have basic networking knowledge or haven't read the manual on their website, follow the instructions on the box.
