I have had a WTCP soldering station for many years. I never liked him as much as my pace at work. I wondered why. Turns out I always ran PACE at 775 degrees and Weller had a 700 degree peak. I changed the tip to 800 degrees and soldering was a joy again. No more tipping the connection until the surrounding plastic melts before the solder melts.
