The image from this camera is much sharper and clearer than what my MacBook's built-in camera offers. The plug-and-play settings weren't great, but I installed an app called Webcam Settings from the Mac App Store that allowed me to tweak a few things. For example, the standard line frequency appears to be 50Hz, while our lights in North America flicker at 60Hz. Using the webcam settings I was able to change this, increasing the saturation a bit and shifting the white balance a bit warmer. As you can see in my picture it wasn't very difficult to build a lego body for this. It sits in a small cardboard box on my desk (so closer to face level) and the cord is attached to the box with a rubber band. Have been using it daily for a few months now and it's holding up pretty well.
