Review on πŸ”§ Delta Faucet RP77739 Repair Kit: Effortless Fix for Faucet Troubles by Carlos Barrett

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Quality has gone down

The RP77739 kit content image on Revain is very outdated. I've attached a better picture. I've used the same kit before with no problems, but lately I've had problems. Out of the last three I bought, only one was good. One set was missing two pieces (easy to see as I ordered two sets at once). A set looked good but once installed the faucet was slow to drip when the knob was turned fully clockwise to the off position. I took it apart again and everything looked fine so I replaced the ball with one from another new kit and it's working fine now. I referred Delta and they sent me another new ball. If the old dome is so badly stuck that it cannot be removed, Delta manufactures the RP20587 removal key, which is inexpensive and available from Revain or Lowes. I've used it twice in Chrome with great success and it didn't damage the dome. I needed a rubber mallet to make sure the tool completely covered the chrome wedges because it's really tight (which is why it works). I was curious as to why it's only listed for Chrome, but the instructions say it may not work with "other colors due to the special finish of the coatings". I don't know why Delta doesn't mention this tool in the repair kit instructions because it can save a lot of time and nerves.

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • Unbelievable price
