I purchased a new WD 500GB USB 2.0 drive to replace the one I had previously owned. It was used for quite some time to copy high-definition copies of thick films. There is a discernible improvement in recording speed, and overall, I am pleased with the purchase. This is a decent product but comes in a subpar package. Various advantages: The item is rubberized, making it nice to hold in one's hands. It is said that this affords the gadget an increased level of protection; however, I have not hit or dropped it yet, and I do not intend to honestly participate in any activities that involve risk while carrying it in my pocket. Quiet, does not squeak, does not buzz. The indicator lamp does not draw any additional attention to itself than is necessary. Got cons: The USB 3.0 to micro USB type B cable that is included with the kit is not merely inadequate in length; rather, it is a complete joke. It is still possible to record information using the computer's USB port, but there is no longer a TV port; instead, you will need to connect it using the standard USB 2.0 to micro USB cable. I am unsure of how much of a slowdown it causes, but since it is still possible to read, the condition is not life-threatening; it is merely an annoying inconvenience. I placed an order with a reputable Chinese e-commerce website for a separate lengthy wire.
