Well made, very easy to open and durable lid with one hand. Use it for pantry, cereal and it fits in most medium sized boxes. I don't wash every time I empty it and especially the top as the lid retains water and you have to disassemble the gasket and dry the parts thoroughly. I've done this and it's fine, just remember not to get your dry clothes wet without making sure there's no water left in them. They don't have handles or notches on the sides, so I can imagine someone with a physical wrist problem falling to the ground if they're not careful. I love these containers. Keeps grain very fresh in high humidity climates.
