The tongue holder works well. The tablet does not like the presence of a cover. I have a Samsung Tab A and a Fintie Cover. When the lid is in place, the tongue and lid fit into the edges of the latches. The lid is easy to remove, the tongue is securely fixed. I hate taking the lid off too often as it can loosen the plastic latches that hold it in place. On my 50 year old tripod, some knobs and hinges make it difficult to attach the adapter, but I'll get used to it.
