Decent but very variable actuation force

I bought this during a lightning sale for $32. I was looking for a cheap (value for money) and quiet mechanical keyboard and it ticked the box on both counts. When I first got the keyboard, I really liked the feel and feedback of the keys, especially on a non-mechanical keyboard. However, after a few days, I noticed a few things that led to me sending the keyboard back. Switch weights vary significantly. If I had looked at their website beforehand, I would have known about it. On their website the release weight is 55 +/- 20 grams. +/-20 grams! I'm just starting to get into the mechanical scene, but it seems pretty drastic. At the same time, you get what you pay for, right? True implementation: Some keys seemed perfectly linear. You only feel tactile feedback if you press the button very slowly and carefully. In everyday typing, most felt linear. A few (few) keys had a satisfying hit that told you when a key was pressed. In my particular case, the 'F' key has the most actuation force and was really nice to press. 2. The keyboard I came with had problems with the "O" key. Of course, that's probably just a flaw and not the nature of the keyboard in general, but it gave me an idea of the overall quality of the keyboard. About 20% of the time, the "O" key didn't work on the first try. It got boring very quickly. 2 O next time. In any case, this is probably a rare occurrence, but thought I'd share my experience. I'll summarize the rest of the details as pros and cons: Pros: + The keyboard is a nice weight and doesn't feel cheap + N-key rollover + Accessibility + Dual keycaps feel solid on their own Cons: - The actuation force of the switch varies significantly (55 +/-20g depending on spec) - The keycaps wobble, which amplifies the sound they produce - The keyboard is very high. I'm not sure if this applies to most mechanical keyboards, but you'll probably need a wrist rest if you're going to be using it for a long period of time. Came with a broken key. I think this keyboard is a good and affordable mechanical keyboard. Since I prefer to type without pressing the keys all the way down, I notice different actuation forces, which alone would have made me bring the keyboard back. After this experience, I think I'll just invest in something better.

Pros
  • Durable Quiet Brown Switch - Quiet switches have soft tactile feedback for feedback with each keypress and provide a better tactile typing experience, slightly quieter than blue. Don't worry about colleagues and family vacations.
Cons
  • Out of fashion
