Review on Simpatico Satin Nickel 31661SN Moen Shower Chateau Series Trim Kit: Stylish Design with Durable Brass Escutcheon Screws, Tube, and Handle by Bill Kodba

complete scrap after 5 months of use

This is a good product and it is an exact replacement for what I need except the 2 long screws have different threads so I had to use the original screws. Also, after I installed the handle, it didn't completely shut off the water because it couldn't be pushed all the way through, so I had to use a small piece of plastic to increase the distance between the handle and the plate. Now it shuts off the water when I press it all the way. Apart from these minor issues, the product is good. Slightly steep price for a few parts (bezel, grip, and a few screws), but it's a much better option than going to Home Depot and buying a $50 Danco replacement. Update after 5 months of use: The handle is cheap hard acrylic and cracked after 5 months of use. There is no way to find a replacement so I had to buy another Moen pen for $10 at auction. Now a thin piece of metal, a few screws, and a cheap pen costs $41. Can you believe they charge so much for it? It's probably worth $3-5 if that's in production. What is the markup for a shared POS. I would look elsewhere for a replacement Moen shower set at a decent price and better quality.
