The world may be turning to digital video exclusively, but mini DV tapes still offer a level of backup unavailable for digital media very durable and perfect for keeping ribbons in order. A word of caution: unless I'm wrong, tapes should not be stored for long periods of time with the spools horizontal to the floor, as would be the case with a photo shelf. Therefore, when hanging on a wall or mounted on a shelf, the rack should have a "portrait" orientation. On the plus side, it's perfect for safekeeping in a desk drawer.
