Review on πŸ”Œ Cable Matters Multiport Adapter: Unlocking Industrial-Grade Electrical Connectivity with Ethernet Support by Michael Syph

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Cable Matters saves the day again.

I needed a USB-C adapter for my MacBook with Power Through and DVI support for Apple Cinema Display (2005). I first tried a Trianium brand USB-C hub with an HDMI port (connected to an Apple DVI-to-HDMI adapter that worked fine with an old MacBook Air) and it didn't work. I replaced it with an Apple multiport adapter that worked. BUT I want to find this adapter from Cable Matters first! The Apple adapter has only one USB port and requires the use of a DVI-to-HDMI adapter. and about 50% more expensive. I found this CM adapter while searching for USB-C Ethernet. If you have a DVI monitor and a Mac with USB-C, this is by far the best choice. This is the second time in recent years that a similar product from another manufacturer has failed, only to later test the Cable Matters equivalent and have it work perfectly. The construction and design is always excellent and the electronics are reliable.
