Review on 🌊 Proteus L5: Wi-Fi Water Level/Sump Monitor with Buzzer & Alerts by Dean Partybus

Great drain pump sensor

Just before the 4th of July we fixed the sump and a small amount of water soaked the carpet and pillow in the next room and the adjacent toilet. Luckily there was no structural damage as we discovered before the water level reached the drywall. We chose this system because it gives an alarm if the sensor is not updated, e.g. B. in the event of a power failure. The sensor comes in a small box with a 25-foot cable. The sensor itself plugs into a USB outlet (just like an iPhone charger). The sensor itself is a float and has a zip tie attached to it for easy installation. I installed it on the pressure pipe coming from the drain pump about 2/3 to the hole. You can place it on any level you want. The instructions were simple and assembly was easy. I had to go to the Proteus website and see another setup document that clarified things. Once your device is connected to Wi-Fi, create a cloud account using the link emailed to you when you first connected to Wi-Fi. You can set the device to alert you via SMS or email, telling it whether the sump is normally full or empty. This will determine when you will be notified (e.g. notify that your sump is full or your sump is empty). I tested the device by lifting the float and almost immediately the main device beeped and I received both an email and a text message from Proteus. The cloud also sends notifications when the sensor resets (in my case when the water level drops to the desired level) in the same way. If you don't want everyone on the list to be notified of the reset, you can enter specific addresses or numbers to be notified. In general, the cloud platform is simple and straightforward. Customer service was excellent. I had to call and in less than a minute a member of staff called me. (The float had to be flipped and the employee gave me simple instructions on how to remove the C-clip at the end of the float sensor). I preferred this type of sump sensor to the moisture sensor to avoid false alarms. since I wanted to place it in a humid environment. I would recommend this type of sensor for a swamp or similar environment, and a humidity sensor for an environment that isn't typically humid (like next to a washing machine or under a sink).
