Great for plants

I use this for my plants that need extra moisture. For this purpose it works. I don't think it increases the humidity in the whole room. The fog rises about 13/14 inches and then stops. It doesn't wet the wood though, so that's a plus. My humidity is usually around 49%. Measuring about 12 inches from the humidifier shows between 65/75 so this actually works for my purpose.
