Went away for the weekend and when I got home my aquarium was cold and blinking Err - Out of Water. This heater is located in the sump and never leaves the water. I really liked how much power it had for its compact profile, but now I can't trust it anymore. I incorporated it into my palette on November 2, 2020. It failed on February 20, 2021 in less than 4 months but conveniently outside of the return window. I'm not very happy with that. If you decide to buy one, make sure the aquarium has a secondary heater. This is a mistake on my part and unfortunately my ailing tropical fish living in upstate New York during the cold winter has paid a price for my faith in this heater. . Don't risk your aquarium with this heater!
