Review on πŸ’Ύ Enhanced Storage and Backup: WD My Book 4TB USB 3.0 External Hard Drive for Efficient File Management by Gabriel Salleh

Revainrating 1 out of 5

3TB Western Digital

Those who are afraid to buy a drive with a capacity greater than 1TB should not buy. 3TB is ideal for those who need extra fat storage. I've been using my WD book for about a month now. No problem. Everything works as it should. What to expect from this order: Solid build. Not that cheap. But it's plastic with ventilation holes on top. It kind of makes it smooth. I was thinking of a metal case but no, this plastic is top notch. I leave it on for big transfers and damn it doesn't get hot at all. + to that. It's black, of course (which is what I chose). It is glossy and can attract fingerprints. But it wipes away easily. Decided to leave the sticker so as not to get dirty. But this is not necessary for all of you. It comes with a USB 3.0 cable. That means you won't get the regular USB 2.0 cable you're all familiar with. But version 3.0 works with USB 2.0, so don't worry. Be sure to. USB 3.0 has a tiny male head that plugs into the back of an external hard drive (EHD). Of course instructions, power cord and box. There is also no pre-installed malware. It is NTFS capable. It says you can create backups using its own software. But there was no CD for something like that. I would suggest you have to download it from their website. By the way, I don't have any backup software installed on it. Maybe it's so hard for people because of the software. I just use it "as is". Period of file transfer. Let's see what I didn't like. Sometimes the USB 3.0 cable doesn't recognize it when fully plugged into my computer. But if I pull the cable out a couple of inches (the cable has a dent, if you straighten it any computer will recognize it) it reads. Strange, maybe it's just me. I would simply connect the whole thing to a USB 2.0 cable. With this, you should pull it out just an inch or where you see the indentation of the line. I assume it has to do with USB 3.0 compatibility. My laptop only reads USB 2.0 but 3.0 says it's generic. I think it could be a small technical error. But it works. The last thing I didn't like was not being able to defragment that 3TB hard drive. I suspect it is due to the power limitation. But he surprised me. I tried several programs including Microsoft degrag. Nothing works. :( That's it. I've used Acomdata before and it had a metal case. I haven't had any problems with any of them. Some had problems but it was my own fault. I was clumsy and lost 2 of them 500GB. My lesson learned. But so far Western Digital is very reliable. Same as Acomdata but much more expensive there. Think I could buy more WD. Slightly above average quality for me. Meets my expectations shown above). Lots of storage space. And no, that's not true, the more storage space, the more your drive can self-destruct and stop working. I've used this thing a lot and it still works. I'll make sure to come back to update if anything bad happens. So subscribe or bookmark this channel if I don't. If nothing, then it works wonders. If you ever see an update, that's bad. It's probably going to be a dead hard drive or something. But I'm also smart. I have another external drive that I keep for backup. If one dies, I still have a copy. oh worry Backup times can be tedious for 3TB of data :PS So far I'm happy. 2 dislikes should not discourage anyone. Disc Appearance: 9/10 (sleek design) Storage: 10/10 Heating/Cooling: 9/10 (stays cool after 20 minutes of file transfer) Lifetime/Reliability: not determined. Everyone will have a different lifespan. Depends on how you care for the disc. I will update mine if I see problems. Overall quality: 8 out of 10 (-2 points for what I don't like shown above)
