Failed just after warranty expired

This drive had served me well for almost 2.5 years (2 year warranty) when the drive suddenly failed. I was working on a document opened from disk and was about to save it when I realized the disk was no longer on the computer. After unplugging the USB cable, replacing USB cables, and switching USB ports, the drive remained offline. I then unplugged the USB and power cords. When reconnected, the drive came back online. Luckily I was able to backup everything before it crashed again, which…

Love them so I'm buying another one today

I bought about 8 of these (1TB, 2TB and 4TB) and they all work great and fast except for one. About 7 years ago I got some corrupted files (images out of tens of thousands) on a 1TB that I used for maybe 5 years and then slowly, week by week, month by month, more and more corrupted until finally I did. I don't have to move as much as I could store on another drive. (It was a PAIN!) But all the other 7 of this My Book worked perfectly with no issues with cables or anything. Love them so I'm…

3TB Western Digital

Those who are afraid to buy a drive with a capacity greater than 1TB should not buy. 3TB is ideal for those who need extra fat storage. I've been using my WD book for about a month now. No problem. Everything works as it should. What to expect from this order: Solid build. Not that cheap. But it's plastic with ventilation holes on top. It kind of makes it smooth. I was thinking of a metal case but no, this plastic is top notch. I leave it on for big transfers and damn it doesn't get hot at all.

Good drive but bulky and slow

For the most part this is a pretty good hard drive and I enjoyed having it as extra storage on my computer. I haven't even filled it in even though it has a lot of videos. However, I have two problems. Firstly, this hard drive is a bit large even for 3TB. I understand it's a full size one that plugs into the wall, but they could make the case much smaller and less bulky. It's more of an aesthetic thing and I still have a lot of room for that. My other complaint, which is even more annoying, is…
