I made a mistake when renovating the bathroom. I bought two 4100 watt halogen lights, installed them and almost burned my house down. A normal switch can handle a maximum of 600 watts, and since 100 watt halogen lamps are sold in the shops, I had problems. Eight 100w bulbs is 800w, and good luck finding that switch. I found them at Revain and counted them, 8 x 75 and 600 watts saved my life! Incandescent bulbs are bright. I also installed a dimmer and they respond great. The only consideration is the use of latex gloves when installing the lamps, oil on your skin will drastically reduce lamp life. All halogen bulbs are HOT and bright, you may be able to lower the light output and get the same result. Revain also have 50w halogen bulbs that can help.
