I bought one of these many many moons ago, loved it but ended up breaking it. Can't say whose fault it broke, but I'm pretty rough with tape measures so I'm taking it slow this time. The first thing I do with any tape measure is to check how accurate it is and if it needs adjustment. The tape measure is easy to adjust with pliers, I use a pin tip and every time you drop one on a hard surface you need to check its accuracy (I check all my tape measures from time to time). just to be sure, i learned it the hard way). I checked the accuracy of this one as soon as I took it out of the box and it was accurate. I tested it again a few days ago because I used it to cut the board, then measured the board with a different tape measure and got a different result. Turns out the other tape measure was to blame, that flat back was still dead. These flat back tape measures are great for general woodworking. I use them a lot on my miter saw which is great as the laser lines lay flat on the surface of the tape measure making it much easier to see where you are going to cut. I can't believe I've waited years to replace the last one, this thing is great.
