The perfect complement to the traditional curved blade tape measure

I have no idea why the flat blade design isn't as common. You'll still want to use your traditional tape measure to measure a room or wall (or whenever you want the tape to stand up straight as it's very flexible), but it's perfect for measuring and marking on something flat a table or half. Of course, having the markings on the tape measure directly on the part to be measured is an obvious advantage. Sorry not impressed.

I really wanted to like this band. It cost me a lot of money to buy considering I've been using Harbor Freight free roulettes for years. The "flat" factor is really good, making it more comfortable to read and mark than traditional curved tapes. BUT, while I didn't think not being able to use it as a "push" measure would be a problem, it really annoys me. Since I have a second band for these functions, I usually grab another band first. I bought one of these many many moons ago, loved it but ended up breaking it. Can't say whose fault it broke, but I'm pretty rough with tape measures so I'm taking it slow this time. The first thing I do with any tape measure is to check how accurate it is and if it needs adjustment.
