Review on FASTCAP LLC PS FLAT16 ProCarpenter Flatback by Jacob Ferrarini

I really wanted to like this band. It cost me a lot of money to buy considering I've been using Harbor Freight free roulettes for years. The "flat" factor is really good, making it more comfortable to read and mark than traditional curved tapes. BUT, while I didn't think not being able to use it as a "push" measure would be a problem, it really annoys me. Since I have a second band for these functions, I usually grab another band first. Second, the rivets that hold the blade in place protrude way down. Rivets always stick to the edge of my work. the piece is in front of the blade and I have to be very careful to be really on the blade and not the rivet. This is very annoying. Lastly, the hook is terrible, it keeps slipping off the edge and doesn't sit flat if I pull too hard. I may have just caught a lemon, but this isn't the first or second tape I've grabbed while measuring. I check all my gauges when measurements are critical, so accuracy is no better than anything else.
