I purchased the XL (50”) for our smaller Great Dane (90 lbs). She loves to nest and absolutely loved this bed. I on the other hand, grew to dislike this bed. As other reviewers have complained, it is difficult to take the cover off and put it back on. Not because of the padding not fitting (it actually fits very well) but because of the terrible zipper design. Most fluffy dog beds have a small, smooth, fabric strip between the fluffy fabric and the zipper. This one does not. That leads to the very soft and fluffy fibers getting stuck in the zipper. This happens at cover removal AND replacement. On top of all of this, the zipper eventually broke! I was unable to get it to work again and had to get rid of the bed. I’m really disappointed since I spent so much on it and my dog loved it. Full disclosure though, I purchased another one and will put up with the zipper issues because my dog loves it and I love her.
