When we bought these custom laser engraved nickel plated dog tags at the bargain price we were very happy. However, a very active puppy's collar will fall apart after a month and is obviously NOT AS RECOMMENDED. In this case, you get what you pay for, which is very cheap. The colored paw front is actually sealed with some sort of clear epoxy. As you can see in the attached photo, the back (printing side) is some kind of foil sticker on the copper plating. It's not engraved at all, let alone lasered.
